Pro School: Flower Farming
An intensive course to give you the fundamentals of flower growing for profit, with a mix of theory and practical. From marketing and sales, to caring for your soil, we’ll cover a wide range of topics. And yes, you’ll also get some hands on experience having fun with flowers! This is for those who are dreaming, planning, or have some experience but want to take their business to the next level.

The full course! Days 1 to 4: The final day is an extension that includes a photography and floristry focus.
Days 1 to 3: For those who want to focus on the fundamentals of a flower growing business.
Days 1 to 2: For those that can only manage a couple of days away – we hear you so have made this option available.
PROGRAMME OUTLINE
The following will be covered in this intensive course. Please note Nourish Gardens specialises in growing annuals and short lived perennials in the field. Greenhouse/tunnelhouse growing will not be included.
Day One
Grow: Harvesting & post-harvest care. Soil & bed management. Irrigation
Sell: Sales channels – tips for success, pros & cons. Market & retail bouquets – efficient methods & design tips
Lead: Big picture planning – annual & seasonal tasks
Day Two
Grow: Propagation. Pest & disease management
Sell: Financial planning
Lead: ‘Lean’ flower farming; reducing waste & maximising value in your business
Day Three
Grow: Succession planning. Ongoing field maintenance
Sell: Pricing. Marketing
Lead: Developing a Business Plan
Day Four
Phone Photography – creating beautiful content for marketing. Tutored by Lavara O’Hanlon of Lavara Photography
Floristry – wedding/custom bouquets & centrepiece arrangements. Tutored by Vicki Roycroft of The Wildflower School
PRICING INCLUDES
Tutoring, all resource materials, morning tea and lunch each day.
Days 1-4: $1375 (or 4x payments of $344)**
Days 1-3: $890 (or 4x payments of $223)**
Days 1-2: $650 (or 4x payments of $163)**

TO BRING
-Clothes & closed shoes suitable for the weather conditions, and that you don’t mind getting a bit of soil on. If it’s wet we may well be heading outside regardless!
-Gardening gloves (if you have your own – we will lend otherwise).
